Welcome to the second edition of the VIB PhD symposium: VIBes in Biosciences 2010! This 3-day symposium is organized by PhD students for PhD students and has all the ingredients to encourage thinking beyond the niche of your PhD, networking and skills development in the field of biosciences. Held in the picturesque town of Leuven in Belgium, the symposium has an intriguing program including top speakers from around the globe, open discussions, social events and workshops all directed at PhD students!

Science talks and workshops
VIBes in Biosciences 2010 will start off with workshops for PhD students on Wednesday October 13. They are already fully booked. So if you still want to participate in these interactive sessions, we will put you on the waiting list upon registration.
On Thursday, October 14 and Friday, October 15, you can enjoy the interesting and inspiring talks of our invited speakers. We can allow up to 300 participants for the scientific talks so be aware that registration will be closed when we have reached this number of registrations.

International students
To 50 international students, we offer free entrance, free accomodation and up to 250 EUR of travelling expenses reimbursed.
UPDATE: All scholarships have been taken. Any late registrations will be put on a waiting list. Should any place become available, you will be notified by e-mail.
Fees
Scientific talks + Workshops: 45 EUR. UPDATE: Workshops are fully booked!
Scientific talks only: 30 EUR.
This includes lunch and coffee breaks, dinner on Thursday and dinner and party on Friday.
Registration
Registration deadline: August 31 for people within Belgium.
UPDATE: Scholarships for internationals are taken. However, anyone can still register for the symposium for the regular fee.
